Woo!! Cornell Ballroom Competition!

Where did October go?!

I'm FNALLY getting my butt in gear and posting this (who are we kidding?  It's the Friday afternoon of a brutal week... I need a break from actual work...)

SO!  Two weeks ago the team went to Cornell for our first competition of the semester - I'm really proud of everyone!  We all dance really well and had a TON of fun.  

Matt and I danced well ourselves - especially considering it was our first competition together!  We placed 1st in Gold Smooth Waltz/Tango and 2nd in Gold Smooth Foxtrot/Viennese Waltz - which gave us 1st overall for Gold Smooth!  WOOHOO!!!  We also placed 5th in Gold Standard Waltz/Quickstep - not too shabby!  (And 4th in Gold Bolero, but who are we kidding, that was just fun...)  :)


Oh!  And here's the (finished!) new dress!!

I did all of the scrolling work on the wrists and bodice myself - 4,300 rhinestones later... ugh...  It was totally worth it, though! :)  It's a little hard to tell but I actually used 3 different colors of pink stones and had them fade in a gradient so it kinda-sorta mirrored the gradient in the skirt.  Fun, right?!


And yes, I was convinced to break out the orange dress again for Latin... :)  

Krista looked great, too!!!

I'm really happy with how the entire day went and it was so much fun!  Once the competition itself was over, Matt, Krista, Jenn, Christina and I grabbed some dinner and then went back to watch the professional showcase (amaaaaazing!) with some of the other team members before the long drive home.  Can't wait for the next one!
