After MONTHS of contemplation and WEEKS of waiting, the latest ballroom purchase has arrived!!
(For those of you playing the home game, the "Smooth" category includes the American styles of Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz.)
More than 5 years ago, I purchased my first smooth costume from RainbowSHIU. She custom makes the dresses for you based on photos of dresses that she's already designed - you can choose the colors, you can mix-and-match pattern details from multiple gowns, add your own little bits of flare - a.k.a. endless possibilities.
For those of you who are curious, here is that first dress she made me:

It will always be a favorite, but every once in a while you need to switch it up a little bit!

There is a little applique action on the bodice...
And there are full length sleeves (I wouldn't have it any other way...) and wings!!
(This is my first costume with "wings" so I'm terribly excited about that! :) And they are removable, too so I can just take them off if they're going to be in the way!)
While I'm sure the four of you who are still reading at this point are anxious to see what the entire thing looks like, alas, I will keep you in suspense a bit longer.
Currently, the dress is a blank slate - not a single rhinestone on it. (Yeah... that's not going to last long...)
So over the next few weeks, I will slowly be adding a little shimmer and we'll see where it goes! I will of course give you a grand reveal when it's all finished!!
P.S. Apparently it is quite comfortable - good to know.
